I love how this one turned out! I always say that, huh?
Here is what the dresser looked like before. The wood was actually gorgeous, and I never would have painted it, but it had a lot of chipped veneer along the sides, which I do not have the expertise to restore. Most of these veneered pieces either have to be completely restored which costs a pretty penny, or given a new look altogether. I do love how paint can add a whole new personality to these beautiful pieces, and the creative process is fun for me.
The color I used was SW Halycon Green, which I distressed and glazed with both brown and black.
The top was stained with 50/50 dark walnut/special walnut.
There are so many possibilities where to use this.
How do you envision this piece being used in someone's home?

Great job! Love how this turned out. I have a dresser in our den that is in fair condition and while I love the wood, I'm playing with the idea of painting it. I don't have any painted furniture in the den but this might be a good candidate....have a great weekend!

I love it! Brilliant, yet again. :) It's a very similar color to the dresser I just posted as well, but totally different style. I really like the way you have it staged in the entry way. It works really well there. Or maybe even an untraditional dining room buffet piece? Lovely!
I love this color! It looks so great. I can picture it in a dining room or kitchen, minus the mirror.
Wow, my jaw dropped. This one turned out perfect! I love everything about it. I can see it in so many areas, even WITH the mirror. I love using pieces like this as a sideboard in a dining room. Or it's great as a baby dresser/changing table since babies love to look at themselves in the mirror.

That is GORGEOUS!! I would be too tempted to keep that one! It's beautiful! Thank you for telling what stain you used. I have a few antique dressers in my garage (gathering dust at the moment)...that I'd like to keep a stain top. I wasnt really sure how to do it. Do you have to strip it ALL the way down before you restain it?!

This is a gorgeous piece. You have done an amazing transformation. I scurried to SW to get the paint, but decided their swatch was a bit too green for me. On my screen it's the loveliest shade of blue and blues are so difficult. Will try printing the page and matching it that way.
I have so enjoyed looking at your creations! Can't wait to see what you tackle next.
My family and I went through a similar loss several years ago. We learned that families make a home, not houses and "things". God was gracious to supply all of our needs. Going through the fire isn't what we would necessarily chose, but it does give us a chance to see our lives differently and learn. May you feel God's protection and guidance every day.
